Kalpa and I photographed two newborn babies together and went over posing techniques, wrapping techniques, soothing baby and relating with mom and dad. We also discussed business and marketing strategies and went through my workflow and digital processing. Kalpa attended an optional day for maternity portrait mentoring. Our maternity portrait mentoring covered my studio lighting set-up, an introduction to studio lighting and posing and photographing a pregnant model. Most of my work with newborn babies is captured with natural light. My maternity images are captured with studio lighting.
