So Wonderful to See You Again | Toronto Baby Photography

I sure do love my job and I especially love seeing so many repeat clients. Another family came to see me again for newborn pictures welcoming their second baby boy into their family.
In June of 2011 I first met this family when they came to see me for baby photography pictures of their first son.

Children are so fun to photograph and he was a natural in front of the camera. He was happy to be photographed and quite the little poser. He loves his baby brother and was thrilled to have pictures taken with him.

Mom chose a similar theme as with her first son’s newborn session. We chose a neutral coloured blanket and earth tons for the session.

I love neutrals and I also love colours. It’s fun for sure to photograph a baby boy on a blue blanket or a baby girl on pink; however, everyone has different personal taste and I let my clients decide what they would like for their picture session.

There’s always lots to choose from and I do give tips and suggestions on what I think would look best for baby’s skin tone. Sometimes a bright colour can compliment a baby who has a very pale complexion. Using a white blanket in this instance may make them look washed out. If a baby has jaundice and a lot of yellow in his or skin, then yellow may not be a good colour choice.

Over the years, I’ve gone through phases of loving neutral colours and vibrant colours. Because I’ve been photographing babies full-time for 6 years now, I’ve collected a very large variety of props, blankets and accessories for my portrait sessions.

I’ll admit that it’s hard to resist all the adorable little outfits available for newborn photography. I have many favourite vendors and they are just as much artists as I am. Their products compliment my work and make each session unique. Often mom and dad have a hard time choosing hats, headbands, little pant sets, etc. for their baby’s session as there are just too many choices. I find it amusing and it reminds me of when we were children and our parents gave us too many ice cream flavours to choose from. My daughter is the same way at 6 years of age and often has a hard time deciding between a cheese burger or chicken mcnugget happy meal at McDonalds.

New props have been ordered and are starting to arrive for 2014. It’s always nice to add new items to the studio. I don’t wish to be a hoarder so each year I do sell off some gently used newborn photography props and accessories. Look out for a prop sale soon as I make room for new items.

I came across some very unique and interesting new props that I can’t wait to use for upcoming sessions. Also couldn’t help myself from buying a few more of those adorable pant and hat sets you’ve been seeing in the last year on my web site.

As always, thank you for following my work and choosing me to be your newborn photographer.
