A Sneak Peek of Rhia’s Beautiful Maternity Photography, Set in a Stunning Outdoor Location

Best Maternity Pictures in Toronto

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been taking advantage of the sunshine and warmer temperatures and conducting maternity photography sessions with beautiful mamas-to-be in some exciting outdoor locations. Just this past weekend, I ventured down into the heart of Toronto with gorgeous Rhia, a beautiful woman whose glowing complexion and excitement over the upcoming birth of her second child were captured in a lovely collection of portraits.

When it comes to personalizing their maternity photography, Toronto women who call this city home have their pick of many incredible photo locations. Now, with that being said, downtown locations like those that Rhia and I explored, can present some challenges. For starters, the many detours that were in place for the Toronto marathon made it somewhat difficult for us to get to some of the locations we’d chosen.

Even still, tulips and other flowers were just starting to bloom and added a gorgeous pop of colour and contrast when juxtaposed with some of the architecture from around the city.

While you wouldn’t know it by looking at the images I’ve included here, Rhia was actually a bit shy at the beginning of her photo session. I’ve worked in maternity photography for some time, and it’s not uncommon for women to feel apprehensive in front of the camera, at least until things get rolling and they start to feel more comfortable showing off their beautiful baby bellies.

For Rhia, who said she had never worn a dress for photos before, the maternity wardrobe combined with being the centre of attention–both as the focus of the images and to passers-by– took some getting used to. It wasn’t long, however, before Rhia’s excitement took over and we were able to capture images that beautifully document this exciting time in her life.

Isn’t she photogenic?! Rhia’s sister curled her beautiful long hair into soft ringlets for the photo shoot, which was the finishing touch for a very angelic looking momma-to-be.

The quality and variety of the images taken during Rhia’s session makes me just that much more excited for future outdoor photo shoots. The great thing about doing this type of photography outside, around Toronto, is that there are amazing backdrops literally on every street corner. When it comes to maternity photography, Toronto women who are looking for a truly unique and personal way to celebrate their pregnancies really can’t go wrong by choosing to take their portraits sessions outdoors in the city their little ones will come to call home.

Rhia was so thrilled with her maternity photography experience that she chose to sign up for the First Year Plan so that she can document her sweet baby’s special little details and exciting milestones in a collection of professional portraits. It was such a pleasure to meet and work with Rhia and I look forward to seeing her again during her baby’s newborn, 3-month, 6-month and 1-year portraits sessions. Thank you Rhia!
