I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet baby girl’s mommy, daddy and big brother back in May of this year, when I took their family maternity portraits in a blossom filled park during the Cherry Blossom Festival. I was thrilled when little Elora’s parents chose me as their Toronto newborn photographer.
Elora, or ‘Ellie’ as she’s lovingly referred to by her parents, was 10 pounds when she was born, meaning there were no shortage of lovely little rolls to capture in her professional baby photography collection. While you wouldn’t know it from the images I’ve included here, Ellie wasn’t interested in sleeping for very long periods of time. As a Toronto newborn photographer, however, I’ve had a great deal of experience soothing infants back to sleep and we still managed to capture some lovely images, during her periods of sleep.
Ellie’s mom chose pink as the backdrop for her baby girl’s photos, pairing some quintessentially ‘girlie’ accessories from the princess collection, including a tutu and silver tiara. I love the ultra-feminine lace head band and fun hats she also chose to incorporate into Ellie’s collection of professional baby photography.
Personalizing your baby’s portraits with colours and items that appeal to you and your family’s tastes is one of the most fun parts of the newborn photography experience. Whether you choose to coordinate backdrop colours with those in your baby’s nursery, to use props and accessories to show that your baby is your little princess or prince, or other items that relate to hobbies or occupations, there’s a million ways to make these portraits a unique representation of your family.
