Toronto Newborn Photographer - 12 Day Beauty!

Yes, I don’t normally work on weekends but it is baby balooza here lately! Today I met a beautiful 12 day old baby girl. She has the most loving and adoring family and I was honored to take newborn portraits for them. I found it difficult to choose just 3 pictures for their sneak peak so I squeezed in one more pic. Dad was a great helper with the baby holding head up pose! Thank you so much for calling guys! Here is your sneak peak and I hope you love your pictures!!!

Durham Region and Toronto Newborn Photographer - Newborn Model Needed

As a newborn photographer, I am often asked by the wonderful and talented crafters that make my beautiful props to provide them with an image to use for their promotional material. I am seeking a model to allow me to try some new props, new hats, new cocoons and new posing!

So, I am looking for a newborn model to participate in a complementary newborn session, with two 8×10 prints, and a set of 8 wallet-sized images included with my thanks.

Baby must be younger than 10 days on the day of our session and under 8 lbs to qualify for the complementary session.

The session is only available for the week of March 21st.

If you have just had your baby or if you know someone who has, please share this with them, and have them contact me.

The first person to leave me a message or send me an e-mail will be given the spot. There is only one spot available!

You can email me at info@chandraleephotography.com or call the studio at 905.449.2200.

THE NEWBORN MODEL HAS BEEN BOOKED! THANK YOU!!

I met the sweetest little girl this week at just 7 days new weighing 6.5 lbs. She went from pose to pose beautifully. Near the end of our session, she started to wake up but I was determined to get her into some prop poses. She argued with me a little but I wouldn’t give up and I believe the end result was worth it…… Priceless!!!

Durham Region Newborn Photographer ~ 2010 Schedule

If you are thinking of booking a newborn session for 2010, you can check my schedule at:

2010 Schedule

Although I do try to allow time in my schedule for last minute newborn sessions, it is not always possible due to the unpredictability of the babies’ arrival times. Only 3 newborn sessions are pre-booked in any given week to provide my clients with the highest level of product and service. One week in May is already completely sold out! In order to avoid disappointment, please book your newborn session while you are still expecting.

Amanda Cutler ~ Pumpkin Pie Photography

After photographing close to 100 newborns in the past year, I thought it was time to challenge myself and find ways to step my photography up a notch. So much has happened over the past few months but I have found time to literally travel the globe and attend workshops from photographers I have been following and admiring for a very long time. I had the opportunity to work with one of my favorite newborn photographers, Amanda Cutler of Pumpkin Pie Photography this past weekend. Amanda offers mentoring workshops and I was amazed by how much I was able to learn from Amanda over the course of one short weekend. Not only is Amanda a pleasure to be around but she is most definitely blessed with a very special gift for capturing the special moments of a newborn’s first few days of life. I walked away with a new outlook on newborn photography and I have many creative ideas to try out in the coming months! These were some of the images I captured at Amanda’s workshop. Thank you Amanda! So creative and so much fun!

Photography Tips! Durham Region Newborn Photographer

Photo Tip No. 2 ~ Catch the Action!

Getting your child to sit still for pictures can be quite challenging. Capturing that great smile can be even more challenging, but with the right techniques, you can capture great photos - even when baby is on the move!

Depending on your camera, it can take up to an entire second from the moment you press the shutter button to when your camera actually takes the picture. This gap in time is called “shutter lag”, and it can be the difference between capturing those great action shots and missing them altogether. Here’s how to prevent shutter lag:

• Press the shutter button about halfway and press down lightly. This will lock focus on your subject.

• Continue to hold the button down halfway until you are ready to shoot. This lets you take the picture much faster because your focus is already locked and ready.

Many digital cameras also have an Action Mode. Using this shooting mode will speed up your shutter speed and help to avoid blur when your child is on the move.

Stay tuned for Tip No. 3!
